We Are
Sign Language Specialists of Western PA, Inc. (SLSWPA) is a staff-based interpreting agency committed to excellence in communication access. Our staff of qualified, state-registered interpreters is carefully matched to each assignment to best meet the specific language needs of D/deaf, DeafBlind, Hard-of-Hearing, and hearing consumers.
We provide interpreting services across a wide range of settings, ensuring that our interpreters are well-prepared and supported. Beyond interpreting, we are deeply invested in community engagement, building meaningful connections, and delivering exceptional customer service.
At SLSWPA, we also champion the growth of the interpreting profession by offering structured opportunities for training, mentorship, and continued development. We believe in fostering a supportive environment where interpreters thrive—together.

Job Opportunities
Internship Opportunities
We offer unpaid internships (per state guidelines) for students in an Interpreter Training Program (ITP) or practicum.
Interns gain hands-on experience and observation opportunities, supported by experienced mentors — helping connect academic training with practical experience.
